Due to performance problems I decide to install Win2k on my system without
ACPI activated (by pressing F5 ...). But meanwhile the hardware recognition
the system freeze.

My system:

ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe, Bios v1008, AMD XP 2600+ (Barton)
ASUS Radeon 9600 XT
Creative SB Audigy Player (PCI-Slot 4)
2xSeagate 120 MB (U100) on Promise U100 TX2 (PCI-Slot 3)
GB-Lan, onboard sound and SATA disabled
Firewire enabled
LiteOn DVD (16x)
TraxData CDR (52x)
Pioneer DVD-R (4x)

Thanks !

Thanks for listening?

Do you have any specific questions?

I'd turn on ACPI and APIC if I were you, which means setting the PC/Computer
type to "ACPI uniprocessor machine" or something like that.
