I'm trying to do a repair install of XP. After it goes through initial
setup, the computer reboots to complete the setup, but it will not
continue because it says "The file 'asms' on Win XP Home Edition
Service Pack 1 CD is needed. Type the path where the file is located,
and then click OK." In the dialog box, I try to type something like D:
\i386\asms, but nothing happens. I have the CD in the drive. And, yes,
my CD is clean. How do I get the path for this file?
Oh, I also followed instructions on Microsoft's site regarding the
Registry Editor, but it didn't help.
