Artist Unknown

I have 2 computers running Windows XP Pro, WMP 8. Only
one of the PCs recognize the artist and playlist. The
other says "Artist Unknown". How is the artist known to
Win XP? Is it read from the CD? If so, why isn't read on
both PCs?

WMP gets that info from the internet. Is one PC
connected to the internet and the other one not?
