arghh new ms elite need to press f1 in startup keyboard wont

I have a new ms elite with the function key lock. on my
boot i have to push f1 to continue but i cant get the ms
keyboard to do so..

any ideas please

Your keyoard likely cam with a little converter block so that you can
connect it to your computer via a PS2 interface, do so and then you should
be able to get into the BIOS and enable Legacy USB support. Then reconnect
your keyboard via USB and it should work. If you don't have a little
converter you'll need a PS2 keyboard to do that, if you don't have one
yourself borrow one from someone else...

Make sure the F Lock button is pressed (so that the F Lock light is lit up)

If your motherboard doesn't properly support legacy ps/2 keyboard for USB
devices, then you will have to hook it up via the PS/2 port.
