Hi,

i don't know if it is possible to do what my boss is thinking about. I
have done a lot of searching for this, online as well as in
powepoint/microsoft help.

We have PowerPoint 2003. We have several old presentations that we made
to potential clients. My boss would like to be able to archive these
(or just keep them all in the same folder), but the important thing is,
he would like to be able to do searches of the archive and get
presentations that contain content on a certain topic.

For example, this is a medically based business, so say we presented to
a company that speciailized in dermatology. He would like to be able to
search the entire folder of presentations for the word dermatology and
get the result of any presentations that contain that search term.

We would be willing to buy a add-on software that could help us archive
or cataloge our old presentations, but like I said, I have been unable
to find any information on this.

THANK YOU!

If you use windows explorer/'my computer' to browse to a folder

Press the F3 key on your keyboard (to search for files)

in the 1st box type in
ppt

in the 2nd box (word or phrase) type in
dermatology

Click the "search" button

your computer will then search within all files ending in .ppt (e.g
powerpoint files) and list any files with the word "dermatology" in them

there are various other options - like the date / size of the file etc that
you can change to narrow down the search.

If you want a really advanced option for lots of files then have a look over

Before spending any money, try:

- Windows' Search feature ( you can limit the search to specific folders and
file types )

- The Google desktop toolbar, which is supposed to be able to search inside PPT
(and many other file types) for text
