Archive Calendars created from Search Folders

J

-Joy M.

I've been running into an odd problem when I Auto Archive. Outlook 2003 will
create an archive calendar of my search folders. This would be a minor
annoyance if I could delete them. But if I delete the new and erroneous
archve calendar, it deletes the search folder as well.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled outlook. Since this started I've even
reinstalled the OS and started over. If anyone has any info on what might
cause this, I'd be very grateful.

No. In the archive folder, all main search folder is empty. It's created
archive calendars instead.

Hi Diane, I posted a screen shot at:

http://www.xsolive.com/Outlook Scre...llItems.aspx&RootFolder=/Outlook Screen shots

You can see that it created a 'calendar' that isn't a calendar (the
properties show it to be a search folder). This happened during the
auto-archive process. And as I mentioned in my original post, I thought this
was so weird I had my system re-imaged by our IT dept and completely
re-installed office. When it was time to autoarchive again, I the weird
"calendars" were back. I can delete them, but it deletes the search folder,
which I have to then re-create. It's kind of a pain to have to re-do your
search folders every two weeks when auto-archive runs.

Thanks for your help with this!

Can you post a screenshot so we can see what you mean? If you don't have a

I think the problem is the custom form (for meetingplace) - export (and
therefore archive) doesn't export custom forms.

I understand what you're saying about archive won't work with custom forms,
but why would it create a new calendar? I'm not getting the connection
between archving / search folders and creating new calendars on the fly.
