Application Uninstall Fails with error 1612

Trying to replace a corrupted Trend Net Wireless Card driver in XP Pro.
Install fails because it first must uninstall the corrupted driver and
Windows Uninstall fails and returns Error 1612. This also happens in
Add/Remove, direct install from CD etc.
Have searched program files, application directories etc. to remove as much
associated SW as possible.
What Next?

Can you please post a copy of the Error Report which says the driver
is corrupted.

Hope this helps.

Problem started after cloning c:\drive. I would not recognize Trendnet
wireless card.
Removed card and attempted reininstall opf driver fromCD.
Install Wizard opens and the dialog box opens
Confirm Uninstall
Do you want to completely remove selected application and all its features?
OK/Cancel
Clicking OK returns this error message
Feature Transfer Error
Error 1612: The installation source for this product is not available.
Verify the source exists and that you can access it.

Cheers,

What programme have you used to clone your drive? Is your system
exclusively Windows XP or are there any other operating systems in
your set up?

Where are you getting the Error Report from? If from Event Viewer
can you copy the full report.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click
on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now
start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This
will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links
into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event
Viewer.
