Application Sharing ?

I know this is not strictly a W2k question but in the past
I've found your knowledge stretches further than that.

(enough of the butt kissing .... )

I'm looking for ways to "share" out applications. We have
over 70 users in this office, at one time or another a
user will need to use a photo editing package but does not
need it all the time so buying a copy for each user is not
an option. As the app (Pshop and possibly IDesign) are
pretty "resourse hungry" apps I have my doubts about
running them from a server (e.g. through citrix)

Anyone have any ideas (legal ideas that is ?)

I appreciate any ideas, best regards

You can never kiss enough butt, especially around here.
We're all insecure and need constant reassurance about our
stations in life.

Anyway, some software comes with licensing systems which
run centrally. i.e. when someone starts up the software,
the app contacts the licence server (just an app running
on a server somewhere). Every time someone opens or closes
the software, the server takes note, and if the number of
users exceeds the number of licences you've bought, new
users can't start the software.

Some of these also run with usernames and passwords, which
make it easy to stop people who don't need to use the
software from using it.
