You can remove the offending security update from Add/Remove Programs. Where
it shows as “Security Update for Windows XP (KB908531) Make sure the “show
updates†box at the top is ticked or you wont see hot fixes in the test.
Delete this file, but if your automatic updates are on you will get this
update again and you will have to delete it again. I couldn't open any Word
or Excel folders or do a "Save As" it got hung up everytime. Hope it works
for you.
