Application Files Left Behind After Uninstall

I finally figured out how set up my VS deployment project to remove a
previous version (I was not setting the productdoe or version number).

While I have been testing, I notice that if I choose to uninstall entirely,
the new version, all files remain behind though the desk top icon is removed.

The difference between my previous MSI and and my current MSI is that I
changed the "Remove Previous Version" property = true
I changed the version number and the productcode. I have not made any other
changes.

What can I do to make sure that program files are not left behind after the
uninstall?

Where do I look for this property?

I found the property on the individual files included in my install but they
are already set to false.

A strange note is that this deployment project, when set to not remove
previous installation, will delete all of the files when the applicaiton is
removed.

When I set the properties for removing prior verions an run the MSI to
remove the application ,, the files are NOT cleaned up.
