Apple Laser Printer and Windows XP

Where do I find a Printer Driver for using an Apple
Personal LaserWriter Printer with Widows XP? I have a 25
pin connection (male to male) cable.

Thanks for your help

these are the two that shipped on the XP CD

"Apple Personal LaserWriter NTR v2010.129" = APLWNTR1.PPD
,AppleApple_Personal_6397,Apple_Personal_LaserWriter_NTR_v2010.129
"LaserWriter Personal NT v51.8" = A_PNT518.PPD
,AppleLaserWriter_Per30C0,LaserWriter_Personal_NT_v51.8

Be sure to configure the COM port setting. The defaults are not correct for
this device. You need to run through the Add Printer Wizard manually for
any serial connected printer as this will not Plug and Play.

PS. be patient and read the manual on the COM port configuration of the
printer, if you get this right the first time congrats to you.

Thank you for your reply. I do not have the NTR or the
NT, on the front of the printer it just says Personal
LaserWriter. Also, I only saw the NTR driver listed when
I used the Wizard. I will review the CD and read the
information on configuring the COM Port. I also have a
cable that has a 25 pin male on one end and a parallel
adapter on the other end - could I use that with better
results for some reason?

Not sure on driver compatibility. If the printer is Postscript Level 1, you
should be able to use any PS1 driver, just the trays configured on the
printer and available options won't always be listed in the driver.

The cable you have is a standard 25 to 25 pin Serial cable. The 25pin male
end should connect to the computer. Unfortunately? most computers today
ship with a 9 pin serial port. You need to get a 9 pin to 25 pin converter.
DO NOT use one that is designed for a mouse since the pins are not correct
for a serial printer.

PS patience, patience
