app error: memeory can't be read

I am running IE 6.0 on Windows XP. Sometiems when I
close IE, I get the following error pop up.
The instruction at "0x1a40dbf5" referenced by memory
at "0x011b5188". Memory could not be read.

Please let me know if there is a way to fix or remove
this error.

I too was getting this same error but on Win2000 and at a
different memory address, which led me to searching here
and finding your request.
In the process of going thru the fix from the reply on your
letter which wasn't correcting the problem my system was
telling me there was not a disk loaded on drive 3 in
looking at this I noticed that my Jaz disk was not loaded
so I loaded it and low and behold my error from IE6 went away.
It for what ever reason was reading or writing to that drive.
Maybe this might relate to you hope it helps
