Anyone know which files that come with XP are for icons?

To increase the amount of icons I can display on the links bar, I would
like to be able to change the icons and shorten their names. I know
that there is more than one file already built into XP.

Can you name a few please?

No because tyhey're all contained within a couple of .dll files.

Drag the web page to the Links bar. Right click > Properties > Web
Document > Change Icon. All the XP icons that I know of reside in
Windows\system 32\shell32.dll. However, you can modify them or create
your own icons using a program such as Icon Forge by Cursorarts. It`s
good fun if you have the time. For example, I took one of the Windows
butterfly icons and changed it to brown tones for a link to a website
about moths. Incidentally, if you modify a Windows icon, I suggest
you save it under a different name elsewhere - say in My Documents -
then just navigate to where you saved it.

Change the name in the Properties > General tab.

Hope that helps.

Right-click the link, click Rename. I hope that's what you meant to do.
