Anyone Got a Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu looking at buying one recomendations
?

Just looking for a quiet cooler and all the reviews says it is, and
Zalman says it will fit on my mobo so all i need to do is order it.

Is cool to as it will put on a Amd 64 bit board as well as that will
prob be my next pc this cooler will go along with me as well.

So if you have one is it quiet, i saw a review at www.frostytech.com
and they say it is, top 5 infact.

If you have one let me know what you think of it thanks as i realy
need to quiet my pc down, heatpipe cooler already order for the
Vidcard, northbridge heatsink got but not installed.

Thanks.

Love it. P4 3.0 on ASUS P4C800E. Came with a Zalman fan speed
controller. It's throttled down right now for low intensity use - CPU
temp is 29c. Easily sped up when gaming.

Fins are sharp & exposed. Not recommended to stick any body parts in
the computer when it's running.

It's a monster. I understand that fitting it on some boards will cover
one of the RAM sockets. And of course on other boards it simply won't fit.
Saying it fits on your MB is not always saying it's going to fit the way you
want it to. I also understand that in smaller cases the PS can be in the way
so simply fitting on your MB is not always the whole story.

Their site has drawings of the heatsink's dimensions. I'd take a long look
at those first. You might get a bit pissed to put it all together and then have
to run with only half your RAM.

By all accounts it's a great CPU cooler and very quiet.

Which motherboard are you going to use? I have an ASUS K8V Deluxe (1.02
rev) and you won't be able to use it since the bottom plate for the CPU
heatsink (that comes attached with the mb) will take some effort to remove
it. You could probably do it, but you'd lose warranty (and possibly damage
the board).

I have been running the Al/Cu version for some months now on a P4 in a
Sonata case and running it at around 1400rpm it is inaudible at 1 metre
whilst maintaining a steady 38C CPU temperature at an ambient of 21C
with just the one 120mm case fan at minimum speed.

I have both versions and am happy with them both on Athlon XPs (1800 and
2000) with temps at 55c with only the zalmann fan at lowest speed and no
other fans on the system at all.

My fax server (XP1800) has been running fine now for about 18 months 24/7
with no crashes at all.
The difference in performance between the CU and the AL/CU is tiny, below
has a review (bottom of the list) and figures.

Basically both are great for quite computing.

Hope this helps

Me too - in a Sonata case with an Asus P4C800E Deluxe. I've got the
speed all the way down, also running with one 120mm case fan. I can
barely hear it and the CPU has yet to go above 42c
