Any way to change the width of the LH side of Excel?

I regularly use a large spreadsheet on Excel 2002 and 2003. Every row
represents a line of client data and I'm currently working with around 1000
clients. As one scrolls up and down past the 1000 row point - which I do
many times a day - the width of the left hand side of Excel (where the row
numbers are shown) changes, resulting in a rather annoying judder to the
data on the screen.

A solution would be to fix the width of the left hand side but I've never
found a setting for that. I wonder if anyone know how to do this, or any
other ideas please?

Thanks

V

You can turn off row/col headers so you just view data under your
headings (if you have any).

Just use rows with only 3 or 4 digits and hide the earlier ones
