Any news on upcoming 8600 series?

All information about Nvidia's supposed upcoming 8600 series seemed to be
real, leaked information. I got excited about it though, considering the
price range was considerably more affordable than others have been, and it
seems that the prices are very competitive to ATI's. I've been running
searches time and time again to try to find updated information, but I
haven't found anything.

Does anyone have updated information about the 8600 series? According to
the leaked info, this March is supposed to be the month it hits the shelves,
and you'd think that the card manufacturers would want their products to be
known at least within the month.

Notwithstanding March is only 2/3 over, Nvidia may be delaying release of
new models because of ATI's extreme difficulty in releasing the R600.

Yes, well the R600 isn't released yet, right? Nvidia would be at a great
advantage if they started selling good cards at a low price point.

They've already sold 500,000 8 series cards as it is. Why would they rush
anything while ATI is busy shooting itself in the foot?

They'd also be devaluing all their older chips and products
made from them. Combine that loss with the ungreat
advantage of selling at a low price point when you don't
have to (another loss) and nVidia is not at an advantage
necessarily, but perhaps you mean someone buying an nVidia
card would be at more of an advantage?

Well, I see both of your points and have a better understanding now for why
they'd be be releasing things a little slower over time. Thanks for your
comments.
