Any ideas on tool to do overall test on computer

Dan

Hi,

I have a computer that runs XP SP2, fully updated, 512 ram, 60 gb HD,
Intel Pentium M, 2.0 Ghz.

Until recently, the computer was running fine, however, since the last
few days, it taking longer to open folders or to start programs.

I have checked for viruses(using norton AV), spyware(ad-aware) and even
ran hijack this and found nothing.

I was wondering if there is a tool that ran overall tests on Ram, HD
access speed and such to see if this would help me figure out what's
wrong with this computer.

Thanks in advance,
D.

Hi,

The problem has been around 2-3 weeks, so Im not sure how "safe" is to
do a system restore to 2/3 weeks before?

Any idea on a monitoring tool?

Thanks,
D.

You can look for third-party benchmarking / drive test tools at

However, most of the problems of this sort are often caused by conflicting
software, which can be identified by clean booting.
