Windows XP Home Edition. I tried 2 different
Administrator accounts. But I did notice when I logged in
on safe mode there was a added name called
simply "Administrator" should try that one?
It may be my server software for direcway. I remember
when I first got this computer I had to install Norton
anti virus and firewall before I intsalled the server
software or Norton wouldn't install. Also the direcway
server software gave me a notice saying it was not
microsoft approved and was I sure I wanted to continue.

have successfully downloaded SP2 today but when I try to
install it I get access denied! I tried it Safe Mode but
still got the same message.
I had called Compaq Presario about year and a half ago
because I couldn't install SP1. I would get the same
Access Denied message I'm getting now with SP2. Compaq
Presario tech support flat out told me I could not
install SP1 on this computer.
What version of the Windows operating system is your PC running?
Are you logged in under an account with Administrator rights?
