Antispyware Problems

I recently installed Microsoft Antispyware and it was
working well. Then I ran a scan and it detect some
spyware, i don't remember the exact name... Well after
that something popped up about missing files. So I looked
and it was a couple of DLLs from my C:\Windows\System32
Folder, but I couldn't do anything about it at that
moment. That night I shut down my computer normally. The
next morning I start my PC and when I started Windows, it
stopped and gave me a blue screen. It was about a missing
file. So I couldn't access my PC for a while. I did a
repair install of Windows XP and it still isnt working.
It is always complaining about a missing DLL. I'm not
sure what DLL is missing because like 2 secs after it is
displayed my PC reboots.

We can't really help you unless we know what files are
missing. Try turning on the computer and tap F8 and on
the Advance Startup Menu you may have an option to not to
restart on system failure. It is something like "Do not
automatically restart on system failure". Some computers
don't seem to have this option. If you can at least get
the DLL file or a part of the error written down then we
could try to provide some help.

- I'm assuming Safemode doesn't work.

This is your way out for this.

1- Start your PC in safe mode:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315222

2-Try to start system restore:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;306084

3- If 1 and 2 doesnt work, system restore from an command promt:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304449/en-us

4- If above doesnt work.

As already mentioned we will need to know whats missing
to be able to assist you in replacing them but system
restore would be your best option,I appreciate you cannot
access it through normal mode as the pc will not start up
correctly but try running system restore in safe mode
back to a point before you had any problems and see if
that fixed the problem.Heres some tips for running system
restore in safe mode:

To run System Restore in safe mode(Tapping F8 while
booting then when the option page comes on choose safe
mode)

To access the System Restore Wizard, click Start, and
then click Help and Support. Click Performance and
Maintenance, click Using System Restore to undo changes,
and then click Run the System Restore Wizard.

While the computer is in safe mode, System Restore does
not create any restore points. Therefore, you cannot undo
a restoration that you performed when the computer was in
safe mode.
You can use System Restore to restore your computer to
any restore point while in safe mode. If you cannot start
the computer in standard mode, you can use System Restore
to restore to a time when you could start the computer
without errors.
To restore to a time when your computer started without
errors, select a restore point as close to the time you
remember it last started without errors.

If System Restore is suspended because of insufficient
disk space, you cannot enable it by making more disk
space available while in safe mode. You must restart the
computer in standard mode and make more disk space
available.

You can free up some disk space if needed by going to
start>run> and then type cleanmgr which will free up any
available disk space

Another tip if you can run the windows system file
checker is get your windows disk, insert it into the disk
drive then goto Start>Run>and type SFC /SCANNOW (remember
to add a space after SFC) and this will check your
windows files for any errors and replace any that is
needed)

If you have any problems or need more advise just repost
and we will be glad to assist you,

Good Luck Andy

Well...
tried everything you guys suggested... didn't work
(execpt the repair install... that worked..)

Where do you file a claim or something because according
to the EULA (if anyone ever reads it) Microsoft will
remebirse $5 for any damages.... It did mor than $5 but I
at least want SOMETHING back for the time I lost...

And you chose Scan Options > Full System Scan in Safe Mode? If its not
working for you need to send in Spyware Report from the Tools Menu.
