Anti spyware processes

In an effort to speed up my computer, I wrote down and
investigated all the processes which are listed in Task
Manager. Have a question about two of them:
gcasDTserv.exe and gcasserv.exe. Both belong to Microsoft
Anti-spyware software. Are they both required?

One differentiating feature of Microsoft antispyware is that it provides
active protection--59 checkpoints monitored by 3 agents. You can learn a
good bit about Windows architecture just by reading the checkpoint
descriptions.

At this point, these processes are needed. If Microsoft Antispyware itself
is having a significant performance impact on your machine, I'd view that as
a bug.

One thing to try would be an update install--control panel, add or remove
programs, Microsoft Antispyware, change, update.
