Anti Spyware download validation system

I have gone to dowload the anti malware software because one of my machines
has been got with the elitetoolbar adware program and i cannot seem to get
rid of it whatever i try.

Anyway, when i went to download it my copy of xp failed the validation
claiming it was either pirated or not valid. So i tried on another machine
and the second machine passed, the next screen asked for the product key of
windows which i duley gave them from the second machine, only to be told that
this product key was invalid. i decided to try sticking in the product key
from the first one (the alleged pirated one) and to my suprise that was
accepted

How can the product key be invalid on a machine that has passed the
validation test, and then the flip side valid product key on one that has
failed the validation. whats all that about?

Btw both copies of xp are perfectly legal purchased oem copies that came
with the system.

For the record it failed miserably to get rid of the adware, will still run
it though it did find more than adaware in fairness, any ideas when the full
version may be out?

Validation is a flawed technology, that can only cause problems, and do
absolutely nothing good for the End User.

All copy-protection schemes are flawed, causes nothing but problems.

Participation in validation is voluntary i.e. you can proceed without
going through the process? Could you have mixed your disks?

Perhaps you keyed in the wrong info i.e. a mistype?

Hope this helps.

What have you tried?

As Kurt said, it is the fault of the flawed validation routine. Don't
use it. It isn't necessary.

You're just as well to not use the MS anti-malware tool. There are way
better free solutions available.
