Another Autoplay question

Is it possible to disable Autoplay ONLY for executables? More specifically,
when I put in a CD-ROM with an AUTORUN.INF file, I don't want the Open=xxx
line to execute, but if I put in a music CD I DO want Media Player to pop
up.

Hi Jeff,

If you know what's on the CD, hold down Shift when inserting the CD and
hold it until the CD spins down. That prevents Autoplay from occurring.

Yeah, I've known that since Windows 95 and that's not what I want.

Have you played with all the auto-play options to see if one of them
will do what you want?

If you have not, perhaps it's time for you to try.

May not be what you want, but AFAIK, that's the only way to stop the
execution of the autorun.inf file other than turning off Autoplay all
together.

I looked and every option except "mixed content" was a definite No. If
someone has a good reference on what "mixed content" really means, I'd
appreciate a link, but I'm guessing it simply means more than one type of
media (pictures + audio, for example), and has nothing to do with
executables.

Mixed content would be a combination of ANY type of files.

Including executables
