Annoying button appears intermittently in task bar

Hi,
An annoying button with a white rectangular icon appears intermittently in
my task bar for a couple of seconds and then disappears (maybe a failed
installation...) but I cannot track the offending program down. I opened
Windows Task Manager and tried to spot the program under processes but that
did not work. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

download and run Process Explorer
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html

You can set the update speed to catch the window, or wait for it to
show then hit the space bar to pause the display.

Double click on the process(s), reading it's image and command line
will tell you where to find them. stop the process and delete the
file/directory. (If applicable)

Right clicking on the Process and selecting Google will describe the
process.

Also the window doesn't run itself something runs at startup, or you
click it to run whatever it is.
