Huray!! :)

And is there a date yet for the SP1 for VS.NET 2005? It was put on Q3 2006?
any news about it?

And please please Microsoft, why not just apply hotfixes instead of people
having to wait for it? :)

Have you tried to install it yet? :)

I have. :-(((

Considering that 2003 SP1 was first expected around Q3 2003, you
shouldn't expect too much here.

Good question. Obviously "stability issues" takes about 3.5 years to
stabilize.

So any idea when the KB article is going to be up so we can actually see what
got fixed?

On my machine it sat there literally 10 minutes before it came up and asked
me if I wanted to install it, then sat there another I don't know how many
minutes before I gave up and cancelled it. It wasn't pretty.

I don't get why it takes three years to get a service pack. It's not like
there where no bugs in the product. It is inexcusable.

I just installed it and I can tell you what wasn't fixed. When you
have a web project that contains two subfolders with the same name
(obviously underneath two different directory hierarchies) you still
get the error "Unable to build folder named <folder>" when you try to
build an MSI for it. I was hoping that would be fixed. It was not.

I just installed it. Took a while but all seems ok. I wonder what was fixed.
Was the most recent security fix for ASP.NET included?

Would have been nice if the web page on MSDN regarding the Service Pack
could have been updated from "due to be released on the 15th Aug" to "has
been released - please click here to download!".. but I suppose at least it
has arrived!

Installation went smoothly, although took some time.

However, now I cannot create a Web Service project, it gives me
"HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error".
It is on Win2000/IIS5 with .Net 2.0 also present.

On the other machine with XP/IIS6 and .Net 2.0 present too, the
project gets created but new .asmx cannot be added, saying that the
file already exists.

Any ideas?

Hi Bo,

Here is my guess: your file is corrupted and some sort of caching (proxy?)
gives you the same corrupted file.
Try downloading on another computer...

HI all

I am getting an error message when installing the VS2003 sp1.
The error is "PCW_CAB_VS" is corrupt .

I have tried 2 DVD installation disks from MSDN and still no result.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks
Martin T
