Animation help - Click on dot in PowerPoint and have city name app

I have a US map, with a dot for multiple cities. I can make the city name
appear in a circle over my dot, but my problem is that I may want to begin
with a different city in each presentation - is there a way to animate the
city name so that it appears when I click that dot and not make me have to
click 5 times and have other cities pop up before I get to that city?

Ex: Click on Boise, ID dot. The Name Boise appears. Click on Houston dot.
The name Houston appears. Audience changes and I only want to click on the
Houston dot....but...I can't get it to pop up without having to click and
have Boise pop up first.

If anyone gets this - please help.

Thx!

Hi

You can achieve this with triggers:

1. Right click text box containing city name -> custom animation
2. Add effect -> entrance animation -> appear/fade/whatever you choose
3. Click on drop down next to animation -> timing
4. Triggers -> start effect on click of: select dot from list

Make take some trial an error to get the right dots associated with the
right cities but you'll get there. Actually, put in 'dummy' text to start
with (e.g. city 1), set up all the triggers, then edit the text boxes to
correct city names.

Hope that helps
