animation and transition

i have slides with pictures. on each slide, each picture fades onto the one
before it. after the last picture appears, the slide will transition too
quickly for the last picture to be seen well. can someone tell me how to
pause before the next slide comes in please?

If you can't get anything else to work, you can add another item to be
animated after you last picture. It can even be an item that is off the
screen so no one will see it.

This is just a variation on David's suggestion.

Give the last shape an animation that does nothing BUT lasts for xx secs
Shrink / Grow > 100% is an example
