animated GIF in PPT?

Jerome

Hi,

I've integrated an animated GIF into my PPT 2003 presentation.

1) Now when the slideshow is running it's starting automatically when
the slide comes up. Well I can live with that. But is it possible to
time that too?

2) The PPT runs in kiosk mode, and when the slide shows up for a second
or n-th time, then the animated GIF won't start anymore. Is it possible
to "reload" the page or whatever (without having to quit the
presentation) so it starts up everytime the slide comes up?

Any help is appreciated!

Jerome

1. You can apply a Custom Animation of "Appear" to the GIF if you want to
control when it appears and plays.

2. PowerPoint returns to the "end" of the slide. To work around this,
place a blank slide in front of the one you want to return to. Give the
blank slide a timing of 0 so that it won't be visible. Now, link back to
the blank slide. That will force a fresh entry into the beginning of the
target slide.

Hello Jerome,

PowerPoint does not replay animations on a previously viewed slide when you
jump to it from a later viewed slide. Of course, the animations are reset
when the presentation loops back to the beginning or you navigate
"naturally" to a slide from it's previous slide (hence the workaround
suggested by Sonia). Here is a KB article for PowerPoint 2000 that
describes a couple of workarounds (similar articles exist for other
versions of PowerPoint):

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;197701&Product=ppt

If the option to choose whether or not the animations on a slide replay
from the beginning, regardless of whether it was previously viewed or not,
is important to you (or anyone else reading this message), don't forget to
send your feedback to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
