Animated cursor bigger than 32x32?

Is it possible to create and use an animated cursor bigger than 32x32
pixels in Windows XP? I have used a number of tools to create ANI
files with dimensions of 48x48 and 64x64 and they look fine. However,
when I select them as a cursor the size is always reduced to 32x32. Is
this an OS limitation, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

So my post sank without a trace...

I have been investigating this a little more and have found other
people with a similar problem (see below), but no solution. It looks
like this is not possible, but if anyone wants to prove me wrong that
would be great!
