? and other keys not working

Hi everyone,
My colleague ran into a problem today in Word 2007 (and Excel but not
Outlook). When she tries to type a "?" it comes out as an E with an accent
on top.

The ">" "<" and ":" keys don't work with the shift button either.

We tried looking at language settings, keyboard settings and remove any
references to other languages.

Any thoughts? Help is appreciated.
