Analog convert function

I have a sony dcr-trv38 camcorder that has the analog /
digital convert function to digitize tape from my old Hi8
camcorder. When I try to capture this in Movie Maker, it
keeps trying to access on Mini DV tape, and not just
capture from the input. Also, when I take the tape out
of the Mini DV, it just tells me there is not a tape.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

I have exactly the same problem and I'm trying to find a
solution from anyone who shows a glimmer of interest.
I've failed so far but keep on trying. If you gat a
result please info me and I will do likewise? thanks
