An Upgrade in Operating Language

While working in Moscow My wife and I purchased an ASUS A8Jseries, DuoT5500,
1024MB, 120Gb, supplied with Vista Basic in Russian (my wife is Russian). In
the four months we have had the computer we have felt like binning it many
time due to continuous problems which seem to all stem from Vista, it has now
got to the point we will change back to XP or if possible upgrade to Vista
Premium in English as all our friends who are using Vista in English say its
great. The types of problems we have had are: Turns it’s self off, Locks up,
Very Very slow, Takes 10mins form opening before its ready to run the first
application. So mu real question is it possible to change the operating
language when up grading or do we need to upgrade to Vista Ultimate?

I sincerely doubt your issues are caused by having the Russian language
version of Vista. A quick look at the general Vista newsgroup will show you
that there are plenty of English Vista users that have problems as well. :/

Hi Jon. I just bought a Toshiba laptop in Sydney which comes with Vista. In
initial setup I chose default language as English(Australian) but the
spellcheck only recognizes US spelling. I can't stand the Vista system so
far and also Word 2007 is causing heaps of problems communicating with
earlier operating systems. I tried Help for language default but the answer
it gave me told me to click a "general" tab in Keyboard and that tab no
longer exists. Really lame - should have got a Mac.
