I RECEIVE "AN UNKNOWN ERROR HAS OCCURED" IN MY OUT GOING MAIL BOX WHEN I TRY
TO DELETE THE FILE. I CANNOT SEND ANY OTHER EMAILS AT THIS TIME. WHAT CAN I
DO?

Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090
It also works on other folders.

Download and install this fix, with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common
antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee,
or a recent one from Trend, tend to cause such problems, although
seldom immediately, so if you have such a program, remember
where to find the fix - you are likely to need it again.

Also, do not enter messages in all CAPITAL LETTERS unless you want
to be treated as shouting and get fewer answers.

Brink- it sounds like you know what you are doing. I am having the same
problem with not being able to delete a sent message. I went in through the
%USERPROFILE%\AppData and was able to delete all but the culprit. It
didn't even show up there. I really don't know what I am doing, have been
reading posts and trying to figure out what they mean.....
thanks for any help.

Why is the reply function of Windows Mail in Vista so slow to respond?
Anyone experienced this. It can take up to a minute for the reply message
box to form into a usuable form. This happens with compose new messages as
well. My contact book is huge...maybe that can be it...

Brink,
I'm having the same problem and trying to follow the steps you have
mentioned. Where do I find the KB941090 Microsoft Update?

Thanks!
Danielle

This reply is for "shawn" or "Brink", not for Danielle. I cannot BELIEVE I
went thru all the download and install for the so-called "free" scan!!!!!!!!!
...only to get to the point of actually "fixing the errors" and be told I
had to PURCHASE what was needed to fix my errors!!! I am so stupid to think
you were actually going to help me!!!
