I'm trying to access files from a CD (CD-R) that I made as backup a
while back (on windows 2000). I now use XP and a new computer.
When I try to open the file on the CD the error is:
"Word experienced an error trying to open the file" or "FILE cannot be
accessed"
So I tried to copy the files to my hard drive and get the following
error:
"An error occurred applying attributes to the file" "Access is denied"
Also, there are a few files I can access too (but the access seems to
go away once I have tried to access an inaccessible file).
When searching for this error, I get information about encryption, but
to the best of my memory, I didn't encrypt anything when I made the CD
(not even sure I would know how).
Can anyone help me figure out how to access these files?
Thank you in advance.
