an alert message indicating that a Cd or DVD is still inside the d

Hello all!

I know this might be a quite naive and maybe useless suggestion , but hasn't
it happened to virtually anyone to forget a CD or a DVD inside a PC and shut
it down. It
might be really annoying if the PC does not belong to the person who might
not be able to go back and get back his or her optical disc!
So I suggest that Microsoft incorporate a new feature into its new OS,
alerting the user that an optical disc is still inside the drive and asking
them to whether to leave it or eject it.

I took the liberty to modify a screenshot to better illustrate my idea:

Thank you :)

The player should have a very small hole in the front panel so you can
insert a straightened paper clip to eject a trapped disk, though your
idea is certainly not a bad one.

Speaking for myself, I say no thanks to your suggestion. I tend to leave
CD/DVD discs in my system on purpose (I hate it when I have five minutes to
play a game, then can't find the game key disk, but that's probably another
rant entirely <G>) so such a dialog would be a pain in my behind because it
would stop a shutdown/reboot from proceeding normally.

You would probably get a lot of negative responses to yet another dialog
that you would have to respond to before the system shut down.

If the light on the CD/DVD drive is lit, this indicates that a disk is in
the drive.
