I have successfully gotten my 3500 Winchester now to 2.53ghz, however
getting errors in Prime95.
Wanting to get the dram up to 200, I tried lowering the mulitplier
thinking that would allow me to bump up the fsb more, like to 235 or
better. My system will not post upon reboot, or a cold boot. I end up
having to clear the cmos and reset my bios settings. It did this also
when trying to up the fsb to 230 without adjusting the mulitplier.

My default multiplier is 11. It does allow lowering that setting, so I
am assuming it really does lower it?

I currently have dram set at 166, with the fsb set at 225 , ht of 4,
vcore at 1.525, dram voltage at 2.6

Well, that's almost 2500MHz. Not too bad. If you really want more than
that you may need to raise vcore a little more. I had to take my old
hammer core 3000+ to 1.70v just to get it stable at 2330Mhz. If you want a
fsb of 233x11 (2.56GHz), you'll probably need more than 1.525v.

I've also overclocked the 3500+ (90nm) to 2.5GHz. It's running steady
and cool. (currently at 35c) It rarely comes close to 47c -- regardless
of the load. I used Arctic Silver's ceramic thermal compound. The
voltage, however, is still at it's default setting. (1.4) There are a
number of voltage settings in BIOS. (from 1.4 to 1.8) Should I consider
upping this, despite there being no problems? Or, only up it if I
intend on overclocking more? (as was suggested) At this point, I think
I'll leave it at 1.4.

If it can run prime95 torture test overnight then it should be ok.

I ran Prime95 for a couple hours with no problems. I don't see the
point in keeping it on all night or 24 hours as it has as an option.
The CPU's highest temp was 48c.
