AMD2600+ / Abit KT333 Problem

Hi,

I recently upgraded my XP1800+ to XP2600+ FSB266 on a Abit KX333 motherboard
(KT333) with 2x256 Kingmax PC2700 memory.
My settings are 166 x 12.5 and I'm running at 2084 mhz.

The problem is I had 2 more memory stick before when I used XP1800+ (FSB133)
: 1x256 PQI stick and 1x256 Hynix stick PC2700, but now I cannot use those
sticks, even when used 1 stick alone. The system won't start. I put all
memory CAS to minimum, but its same.

My system is also unstable, I froze once in a while...

someone can help me or give advices please? can we really run the XP2600+ on
a KT333 with no problems?

thanks a lot for your help

The higher the CAS setting, the more likely your system will function
well. Lower CAS is like overclocking (in a way).

I should clarify:

CAS 3 is nice and stable, CAS 2.5 is faster and may be less stable, CAS
2 is faster still, and some memory becomes unstable at this setting.

I tried to put all cas value to high, no bank interleave, i try to boot on
each memory stick individually, only kingmax PC2700 will let the computer
boot!!! hynix PC2700 failed, PQI failed!

the problem is i cannot find kingmax on sale anymore...

I will try one stick of Corsair PC2700 1x512

Can I mix 2x256 Kingmax PC2700 and 1x512 Corsair to reach 1 gig?

Thanx
