Hi, does anyone have a Laptop with an AMD processor? They seem to be way

Any comments? Thanks in advance.

I own an A64 3200+ mobile. They are generally more powerful than the p-m,
but do use more power. AMD has a new processor out of r notebook now ....
Turion. It is worth checking into for increased battery life.

As for AMDs ... I got my machine as a desktop replacement portable ... it
doesn't need longer battery-life as I don't travel much, and where I
carry it I can plug it in so performance was key (battery-life was a
non-issue for me). For the price point I felt that AMD64s were a better
value than Intel.

Interesting could it be another Clevo? ... I have an AMD64 by way of
hypersonic-pc that looks very similar to your machine. You may also try
sager. (better prices than hypersonic-pc) but they don't offer the
paintjobs.

Doesn't look like sager has all the games that your system has; the
initial prices look to be lower though. A warning about Hypersonic: they
deliver, but take their sweet time and don't hit their schedules. I have
no experience with either sager or cyber so cannot speak to their ability
to deliver on schedule.

They may all be Clevo clones (original manufacturer;
http://www.clevo.com.tw) I like mine. I am running x86-64 linux (fedora)
and windows XP in a dual boot. I am not a gamer, just a programmer. My
tools run well on it. The wide screen mine came with is great for code,
but it is a little on the heavy side ... more luggable than portable.

The P-Ms seem to be more about battery-life, but you can also get P-4
notebooks from the suppliers I listed. Very similar performance to the
AMDs, but they seem a lot more pricey ... they may be faster, but I didn't
feel the prices were warrented except perhaps on the 4 gig notebook ... I
liked it but not for that much money ... upgradable to 2 gig should last
me until I am looking for a new notebook in another five years.

Hope it helps.
