AMD dudes - need magic decoder ring for Family/Model/Stepping info

I was in Office Depot today and went to a Compaq computer, brought
up System Information, and it said the processor was x86, Family 15,
Model 47, Stepping 2, and 2148 MHz (or thereabouts).

Of course it says on the case that it's an Athlon 64 3500+, but I'm
hoping the other information will tell me exactly what 3500+ it is,
such as 939 Venice E6. Is that so?

If so, where can I find the translation table?

does it really matter, big chain computers are typicaly bought by folk who
dont know about pcs so have no overclocking options and usually some fairy
annoying design decisions.

with such a rig why is the cpu stepping of any importance, short of sse3
which could concevably be of some use in the future {1} which if i recall
is on the system info panel if i recall.

Yes that model is a Venice core which is a E3 IIRC - that system seems to
be slightly underclocked at 2148MHz??

Well AMD only uses the names like Venice, San Diego etc. in their road-maps
and there's no official cross-reference that I've been able to find. You
can get some info on available versions here:
http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desktop/ but that does not give model
numbers or names. There's some useful info in this thread:

Moderator which may or may not carry some weight. There's an unofficial
road-map summary here http://www.c627627.com/AMD/Athlon64/ but it is not
100% correct or up to date for everything, e.g. the 6th A64 3500+ core
appears to be missing and in the Opteron section it shows the Italy cores
as DDR-II 667 memory bus.
