AMD Dual Core 64 bit

Nate

Last I heard AMD and Intel are both planning on releasing dual core CPUs for
desktop systems in June. Is this still true?

I was curious if anyone knows if AMD is planning to release a dual core 64
bit CPU right at first or will we have to wait for that. I am also curious
if the currently Athlon 64 CPUs will go down in price when the desktop Dual
Core CPUs hit the street. I didn't know if AMD has released any of this
info or if any answers are speculation.

Thanks for any info.

See the Tomshardware link below for a head-to-head comparison of the
Athlon 64 X2 and the Pentium D (AMD's and Intel's dual-core 64-bit
CPUs). The X2 should hit the shelves in the next few weeks....

The X2 looks like a winner!

I meant to say.... check out the power consumption test near the end of
the review. The Pentium D draws more power when idle than the X2 does
under full load!!! Crazy.

When will online retailers start selling X2 cpus, and will it be
available in all countries without delay?
