AM2 Sempron 3000+ oc settings

I currently run an AM2 Sempron 3000+ @ 1.8Ghz on a Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G
m/board.

I have been having some hassles with the overclocking settings, I currently
run it at around 2Ghz without a hassle, running at/under 40 degrees Celcius.
I'm sure that it will run faster, but I'm not 100% sure on the settings. For
example, where do I lower the DDR2 Mhz and is there a particular jump in the
FSB i should take... for example do you just go up,1,2,3... or go in steps
of 20,33 or 66...as the last system I overclocked was an old intel which was
very different to oc.

So any help or exact settings for this cpu & board combo i should use? I'd
like to run it around 2.2/2.4Ghz if possible.

Thanks for any help

You'll need to get the cpu freq up to 300MHz for 2.4GHz with just an 8
multiplier. So you'll need to lower the HT multiplier to 3x and lower the
ram speed to about as low as it will go (400 or 533) before raising the
system clock. I think the chipset will do 300MHz, but i'm not sure. Never
had mine that high. In the bios, Ctrl-F1 will bring out the hidden ram and
HT settings of the MIT. Experiment. I always start out doing jumps 33MHz
at a time. I don't have time to mess with mine much, but I got 260MHz
pretty easy (2.6GHZ on X2 3800+).

Thanks for that, I knew there was a hidden menu in the bios, but couldn't
remember what. After just a quick attempt It seems to be running stable at
2.1Ghz which is alright for now, but i'll have another go tonight. Thanks
