Am I making the correct choices here?

Hi all!

Consdering a new system...

I've considering putting a new system together. I have the following
components in mind. Does anyone see any components that are
bad/not-so-good choices?

My main priorities are a system that can run any version of Windows
Vista smoothly, and a system that is QUIET.

Regards,
Evert

I would question the case. It's all very well it having a nice, quiet
(presumably!) 250mm fan in it, but where are you going to get a replacement
one when it wears and starts to get noisy? That fan certainly isn't an off
the shelf item in most PC stores.
I don't know how much you want to spend on a case, but I would get one of
these: http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/products/cases/p180
We have two of these here, and as far as I'm concerned you can't beat them.
Quiet, good cooling, well made and good looking, I'd recommend them anytime!

Replacement fans are available. They even sell them in the same
not-that-large town in Norway where I currently reside, at Microplex:

(I am considering contacting those guys anyway, since it seems that the
case I opted for above does not have a filter in its fan... :-/

That case looks quite intriguing. I will take it into consideration! :)

If you're wanting a quiet system, like you stated, that WD Raptor drive is
one of the loudest drives available. I'd much rather select a quieter drive
with a good reputation, such as a Seagate or Samsung drive with a decent
cache. That's not to say that the Raptor is a bad drive; it's just damn
loud, creates more heat, and the storage price-per-GB is terrible.

Would perhaps the Cooler Master Ammo 533 (
