"Always on"?

We need a usb or firewire connected flatbed scanner that is always on,
somewhere in the $100-$500 range, that can handle 200-400 scans per day. We
use XP Professional, btw.

No need for photograph or slide accessories. I'm not even concerned about
great quality scans. Just fast.
The warm-up time between uses is killing us.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

TIA,

Dana

My canon lide 35 was $70 and fits the bill. Speed OK with USB 2. It does not
come as firewire.
