Alternate lines gray- 2nd question

S

Stephm

Hi,
Jeff C. gave me fabulous code (that I would never in a
million years have figure out by myself!) to alternate my
lines gray- it's rather fabulous!

So here's the picky question. Originally I had a red line
as a demarcation between records. Now with the gray/white
alternating, I have the header row white, one gray row
with a red line under it, one white and then one gray row,
THEN a red line under the white-then-gray section.

So I no longer have a red line under each record. For
(picky) readability, is there a way to have one gray row,
red line, one white row, red line, one gray row, red
line... If not, the report looks so much better as is.
Just curious.
Thanks so much! Stephanie

Humm, that's a little odd.
Which code are you using? The one that will color the entire
Detail section for each record?

My guess would be is that the gray color is overshadowing the
red line and it is not showing through. What happens if you
click on the red line in Design View and select:
Format | Bring To Front

Any change when you run the report?

I was using the 1st method. Geez! I know nothing about
reports! I fixed the "bring to front" and played with the
line thickness- it's difficult to get the Page Footer
section close enough to the line that the gray row doesn't
dip into the white row. I couldn't get it perfect, but it
looks pretty good nonetheless. Thanks so much for the
help and the second reply. Cheers, Stephanie

Ahhhh, but learn as much as you can.
Reports are what get you noticed!!!
Data entry people like to have easy-to-use forms for entering, editing,
and looking up information. Managers, supervisors, and "powers-that-be",
however, like to see reports! Something they can hold in their hand
and go, "Yes, *this* is what I wanted to see!"

Sounds like you have it fixed I think??

I probably should have mentioned this before, but you may see different
results on screen based on the Zoom size you are using. I've seen this
personally many times. One line looks like it is there, but when I change
the Zoom size it disappears! The results print as expected, but on screen
I can see strange things.
Thanks so much for the help and the second reply. Cheers, Stephanie

You're welcome, glad to help.
