Alternate IP network config

I had a problem where I needed to change my network card IP
settings(dns, static ip,wins). I see the tab for alternate settings but is
there a way to switch to the alternate IP.

The alternate IP configuration is the static IP config that you want this
network adapter to use in the event that it cannot obtain its IP addressing
configuration from a DHCP server.

Ah, I misunderstood. I was hoping it would take all of the settings. My
problem was my in house DNS went down and I had an outside dns IP setup in
the alt, but it never switched to that.

Thanks

You can have multiple DNS servers setup in your IP settings.
Just add the external DNS as the last setting.
