(Note, I also posted this in the XP Windows Media Center help section because
I need to find a solution to this. Thank you!)

Windows XP Media Center Edition v2002
Service Pack 2

** Spyware Free

I cannot figure out why the ALT-TAB task switcher is not working properly.
I can have several applications running. (ie. Quicken, Netscape, IE,
Netscape Email, and Excel)

I'll be on my email, ALT-TAB to switch over to Excel, then a single ALT-TAB
again to return back to my email. Sometimes is works, but other times it
will switch to whatever it feels like!!

I've checked the keyboard settings and I know its not a keyboard repeat or
anything like that. When you click on the ALT-TAB one time and hold the
ALT key down, the order that the programs are in tend to change around and I
get extra icons of one of the running tasks! At one point it will say
Excel, Email, Quicken, Netscape.... Then you will see an extra Netscape or
Quicken "tab" that is not anything.

I've tried replacing the standard ALT-TAB switcher with the XP Power Toys
version. It too does the same thing. I also tried TaskSwitchXP Pro and it
does the same thing. Both of those programs will show a "preview" of the
window you are switching to. Funny thing, when it "acts up" like this, the
extra window that its showing has NOTHING in it...an empty preview!

I feel its something deep inside of my windows that is corrupted. I
emailed Gateway for support....and they want me to reload the entire system!!
Yes, the simple solution...erase everything and start over.

Can anyone here provide some help. I don't know what files/DLL's are
responsible for the task switching, but I do have other systems that I could
get files from if necessary.

Thanks,
George
