Alleycode HTML Editor
Alleycode is an Internet-ready 32-bit HTML editor for Windows. Alleycode
presents an intuitive interface for rapid deployment, a small footprint
which translates into fast rendering and robust C++ constructions for
trouble free usage.

Cool Features:

Synchro View...
Synchro View allows you to see your progress in real time, you can also
display two way synchronised code/design. Valuable time saver when
dealing with large files and looking for a particular piece of information.

Smart XHTML Tags...
Alleycode automatically formats 'Empty XHTML Elements' based on your
'DOCTYPE'.

Quick Edit...
Right click enabled HTML tags for fast wizard supported updates. Covers
all essential tags!

Assignments...
Quick access to works in progress. Enter a name and project path + Add +
OK. Your assignment is now available via a dropdown menu at the top of
your 'Directory window".

CSS Wizard...
Intuitive Style Sheet Wizard allows you to create/update either internal
or external style sheets (CSS1 - CSS2).

Turf View...
A somewhat unusual real estate view of your project. Convenient if you a
have a small screen. Turf gives you complete "right click"control over
Alleycode.

Optimizer...
Alleycode includes you a very usefull "Optimizer" wizard which will help
you keep your meta content accurate and search engine friendly.

Synchro View... and Quick Edit... set this editor apart from all others
that I have tried!

And you are? Since all you did was copying and pasting the blurb form
the Alleycode webside, I presume you are not an ordinary user but are
connected tot the company.

No, just a very satisfied user wanting to share experience with others.

Well, do that, instead of just quoting form the website. Tell us about
your experience en how it compares with the other HTML editors you've
used.

I can't see what's wrong with that.
Better a quoting than nothing, until it's freeware.

Sure, better than nothing but still it would've been nice(tm). Anyway,
her post *did* get me to the site. Being an NVu/PSPad user, I was
interested to see how Alleycode handles code format, php includes, etc.

From the screen shots, the product looks to avoid NVu's problems.

I wasn't able to get a good snapshot of support since the forum is down
(apparently hacked/spammed too often). Scrolling through the changelog,
it seems the proggy has been out almost 3 years and that the development
pace is pretty robust (frequency & features).

If I end up test-driving it, I'll report back.

I used it for a few months and was reasonably happy until I discovered
that "Find and Replace" simply didn't work. I emailed the author but
nothing has been done about the problem so far.
