all zip files corrupted?

Hi,
When I download zip files on my new installation of XP
home edition, I find that when I ry to open them, they
are all missing or corrupted, according to the windows
zip file program. However, I can open them with another
program, such as 7-zip. Does anyone have any suggestions
as to how to fix this? It doesn't matter from what site I
download the files from. Thanks.

just don't use the windows based zip program; use a third part zip utilit
