All System Sounds Stopped

Using a Dell 8300 PC with a SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio card. One week
ago all sound for the PC stopped. I have gone through the troublshooter
several times without success. The only hardward or software problem I can
find is a device conflict for SCSI/RAID Host Controller. Would this conflict
be connected to the sound issue? I have tried to resolve the conflict and
have been unable to find a solution yet. Any and all guidance is very much
appreciated.

In Device Manager check the Properties > Resource tab > Resource Settings for
Controller and Sound devices. Click each resource and see what the info in the lower
window pane show for any conflict info.
