All contacts disappeared

Running Office XP Outlook set to open on 'Contacts'. Lost power and on
restart all contacts disappeared as if file has been deleted or renamed.
Another computer is connected by D-link but its Outlook address book is not
as comprehensive. About 1280 addresses have been "lost" - any suggestions on
where the file may be hiding.

Do you back up your data?
What makes you think the file is now "hiding?"

Russ,
1.I have backed up data albiet some weeks previous and thus is out of date
2.The computer (where the Outlook Contacts were filed) is not coonected to
the net so I believe the file is "still around" somewhere inside the C drive
- should I search for a pst file and then how do I find out the date of the
last addition to the file?

I doubt the file went anywhere. Can't you just look at the properties of
your default Outlook data file to see where it is, then use the Inbox Repair
Tool to try to repair it?
