Alignment of combo dropdown list?

I have a combo on which the dropdown list comprises several columns (to
enable accurate selection of the correct record).
As a result the list is considerably wider than the combo control itself.
It seems to align itself automatically to the left edge of the combo control
which is not ideal as some of the list columns are then out of sight, off the
right hand side of the page, and you have to scroll to see them.
I would like it to align to the right edge of the combo, or possibly to be
centred - that might be just enough to make all the columns visible without
having to scroll sideways.
Is it possible to influence this alignment, and if so, how??
Many thanks

Dave, that's not the problem. All the columns are there, but not visible
because the control is over on the right hand side of the page (and I really
do not want to mess with the layout) and because the list is justified to the
left edge of the combo control, half the columns are out of sight.
If I could align the list to the RIGHT edge of the combo, it would display
back towards the centre of the page and everything would be visible. That's
what I am after!
Thanks

Oh well, it had to happen sometime.... I have posted probably 100 or so
queries over the last year or so and every other time there has been a
solution!!!! Finally hit the buffers with this one, too bad!
Thanks anyway

What version are you using? From my testing you should not be seeing this.
I just tested in Access 97, 2000, 2002, and 2003 and when there is not
enough room on the screen to the right the drop-down list shifts to the left
so that all columns stay on-screen. I could even shove the form so far to
the right that the entire ComboBox was off-screen and when I pressed F4 to
drop the list it still showed in its entirety at the right side of my
display.

Rick -
Thanks for the glimmer of hope...I am using 2002 (10.2627.2625).
I don't know if this is relevant or would have no impact at all, but this
combo is within a subform on a tab of a Main form.
Many thanks

I just tested that in 2002 and did not see the problem you are describing.

Well it's certainly very odd, cos I just tested what you had referred to
earlier - I move the combo till it was off-screen except for a tiny bit of it
showing, and the list then aligned itself centrally rather than fully over to
the right - so there was at least some sort of recognition that it was going
too far right and it tried to do something about it. Perhaps the form is too
wide, so it thinks it has enough space to go right. If I pull the right
margin in, it may force it to think left. I'll try that but if no good,
forget it, we'll have to live with it. But I just don't like mysteries!!
Thanks
